Programme Notes

Name of piece: Indifference

Choroegrapher: Rhian Omisore

What is 'Indifference?'

Indifference; 'The quality, state or fact of being indifferent'

The aim of using the concept of indifference, was to highlight how different personalities within movement was portrayed in a short piece. I also had the dancers demonstrate their own individualities, and how one dancer can be 'different' from another.

How does my piece represent the chosen stimulus?

To ensure my piece had demonstrated the theme of indifference, I had made sure that my dancers were fully aware of the concept. Then from this point, I had instructed my dancers to keep the theme of 'being different' within their solos.

The main section that had conveyed a sense of indifference were the solo performances which had opened my piece. This consisted of 4 very different solos, all of which had a unique style of various genres of dance.
