World War Two and The Blitz

 

World War 2 was a global war, which had invlovement of several nations in opposing axes; Allies and Axis. The duration of the war was for six years, from 1939 to 1945. Over 100 million individuals from 30 differnet countries took part, which did make world war 2 the most widespread war in history. The first invasion had taken place in Poland, and had then spread further across Europe, Africa and Asia.

 

The Blitz

The Blitzkrieg, otherwise known as The Blitz (Lightning War), was the bombing of the United Kingdom by Nazi Germany. On the 7th September 1940, the Germans begun their raids on East London, in particular the Dockland area.  The result of these raids caused 450 deaths, and 1,300 people to be seriously injured.
